Writer Chuck Wendig explained in a series of tweets that he has been fired by Marvel Comics from its Star Wars titles for "the negativity and So Jeong Actor | Adult Movies Onlinevulgarity that [his] tweets bring," referring to his Twitter responses to disgruntled Star Wars fans.

He further explained that since the release of the book (which was bombarded with one-star reviews from coordinated negative campaigns), he has been harassed by fans who identify with Comicsgate and other anti-diversity efforts.

Wendig clarified that the decision about his dismissal came from Marvel Comics and not Lucasfilm Ltd., and tweeted that he was explicitly told that his firing was a result of his "negativity" on social media.

Before his firing, Wendig had been working on two Star Wars comic book series: Shadow of Vaderand another as-yet-unannounced title. Wendig will not finish his work on these series.

Wendig finished his twitter thread by calling his firing "a win for Comicsgate" and urged his fans to vote in the midterm elections.
